
Job Summary:
The resident assistant provides for the
personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and
activities.
Delivers personal care: bathing, skin care,
oral hygiene, hair care, shaving and nail care. Provides
care of personal articles, clothing, cleanliness of
environment, restocks units with Kleenex, lotion, etc.
Performs restorative activities planned for
residents.
Assists in transporting residents to and
from dining room, activities, physical therapy, beauty shop
and chapel.
Prepares dining room, serves meals and feeds
residents. Arranges food on tray so it is
accessible to and manageable by residents.
Completes daily records, weights, vital
signs.
Qualifications (Professional):
High school education or equivalent
preferred.
State tested preferred. If not state
tested, must complete required 75 hour course prior to
providing care to residents. The applicant must pass the
skills and written/oral test as required by the State of Ohio
to continue employment as a nursing assistant. If
training course has been completed prior to employment,
employee must take test within four months of start date.
Qualifications (Physical):
Must be able to lift, push and pull 35-50
pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
Possess the necessary dexterity to feed,
bathe, etc.
Possess the ability to bend, stoop and
reach at different angles.
Walks, stands and sits intermittently
throughout the day.
